The Market Common Myrtle Beach Movies Film Series continues with Don’t Make Waves that will be held Saturday, February 29th. MGM’s Don’t Make Waves, is the only movie by a major motion picture studio to have its World Premiere held in Myrtle Beach. On June 9th, 1967, the movie’s stars, Sharon Tate and, then-Mr.-Universe-turned-actor, Dave Draper, were on hand for the festivities that were the featured attractions of Myrtle Beach’s 1967 Sun Fun Festival.
Guests will be welcomed to Tupelo Honey, 3042 Howard Avenue, at The Market Common, Myrtle Beach’s premiere shopping, dining and entertainment destination. They will enjoy upscale southern fare while hearing the story behind Myrtle Beach’s only World Premiere by a major studio. The delightful experience culminates with a private screening of this MGM 1960’s comedy. An all-inclusive ticket that includes the private screening, the meal, tax and tip is $25. A cash bar will be available.
Please print and present your tickets at the door. Keep in mind that tickets for this and The Market Common’s other historical events make for popular birthday, anniversary or any-occasion gifts. For those not local, consider making this the perfect excuse for a memorable weekend in Myrtle Beach. If you were at that World Premiere at the Rivoli Theatre almost 53 years ago, or just enjoy a fun 1960’s comedy with Tony Curtis, Sharon Tate and Dave Draper, then you are in for a treat.
